Repetition - this word feels relevant to me. I find repetition emboldening. I also find repetition suffocating. Repetition can be alarming. Repetition can be joyful. Repetition creates patterns. Patterns can overlap or patterns can be seamless and some have space between them. Some patterns are obvious or have subtlety mixed in with their simplicity, some have endless complexity. They can have random rhythm but also patterns can have progressive rhythm. Patterns in art break down traditional boundaries, both in terms of aesthetic and conceptual frameworks, pushing the limits of where and how art can exist - and inviting more people to partake in the creative conversation.
